1. See the lost come to Christ through the ministry of the preached Word of God and the personal witness of the members.
2. Assimilate new believers into the body of believers at Kernan where they will grow in their faith.
3. Lead new Christians to follow Christ faithfully and serve Him through ministry.
The foundation of this vision of Kernan Blvd Baptist Church is grounded in the scriptures. Specifically Matthew 28:19-20
"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

It all began with a vision and a small group of God's people responding to a specific need. The first service of Southside Estates Chapel, a mission of First Baptist Church, was held on April 18, 1948, in a home located on Southside Boulevard.
During the next year, a parcel of property was purchased at the corner of Beach Boulevard on the west side of Southside Boulevard. A military chapel was obtained from Camp Blanding and the first service was held on April 17, 1949.
Just two years later in June of 1951, Southside Estates Chapel was totally self-supporting and was constituted as Southside Estates Baptist Church. These first three years were marked by God's blessings and people with commitment and a vision.
The chapel was struck by lightning and completely destroyed by fire in 1962. A new worship center was built and completed in October 1962.
The church quickly outgrew this property and the people of Southside Estates began praying for what to do next. God led them to purchasing 35 acres of land on Kernan Boulevard. At this time there were no homes on Kernan, just a garbage dump at the end of the road. As neighborhoods began construction on Kernan Boulevard, the church began planning the construction of a new facility.
In November of 1996 the church launched a vision campaign to raise the funds to begin construction. In June 1998, construction of Kernan Boulevard Baptist Church began. The first service in the new worship center was held on August 8, 1999.
In August of 2006 the church completed construction of the Family Life Center. It has since been used to launch our Upward Basketball League, allowing a new way for Kernan Baptist to connect with the community.
Kernan Baptist continues to move forward under the leadership of our pastor, William C. Crook. Looking to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we will lead others to connect with God and His church, grow in faith, and serve others in a way that will impact our community, our city , and our world.
